Happy Finish are pleased to announce our participation in this years inaugural 'Geekender' on 24th & 25th October at The Photographers' Gallery in London; a weekend of events and workshops devoted to digital culture!

Saturday night will open late until 9pm, with a party to celebrate Photoshop s 25th Birthday, where you can experience the delights of Photoshop version 1.0, a live cut and paste studio (SouthBank Collective) and a 'Photoshop Battle'. The 'Battle' will also feature Happy Finish's very own Sophie Morrison who will be taking on members of the audience in a 3o minute head-to-head competition to see who can create the best piece of work from a selection of still images. Without giving away too many secrets!

Photoshop Layer Cake & Cocktails will be served from the Photoshop Toolbar whilst Adam Brown (Buncefield Records) will translate your favourite JPEG images into sound in a special DJ set. Visuals taking you through the history and culture of Photoshop will be provided by Central Saint Martins MA Photography Students. Exhibitions by No mie Goudal: Southern Light Stations and Burden of Proof: The Construction of Visual Evidence will also be open to view.

Sat 24th Oct, 2-5pm - An afternoon of drop-in demos and hands-on experimentation. Adam Brown demonstrates the process of cutting images to vinyl discs and invites participants to record their own images on reel-to-reel tape. Artist Pete Ashton explores how to make photographs with a Raspberry Pi, and artist duo bl r will ask visitors to contribute drawings and take part in the creation of a colllective GIF. Free with exhibition pass, no booking required.

Sat 24th Oct, 6-9pm - A party to celebrate Photoshop s 25th Birthday. Sun 25th Oct, 11 6pm - A workshop with Mishka Henner exploring the photographic image as data, introducing the practical tools used to create his own projects and the opportunity to discuss both the technical and cultural implications of image appropriation in digital culture.
