
As a continuation of the Nike National Team Kits, Happy Finish worked with Nike and Intro to retouch a collection of images for the 2016/17 Nike Club Kits. Their ‘Engineered Speed’ campaign features Nike’s revolutionary AeroSwift Technology, developed to be the peak of speed and comfort.
Our experienced retoucher, Tim Ashton, developed and executed the creative design for this retouch project. He created the flowing light trails in the images to accentuate the kit’s properties of being built for ‘light speed’, with exceptional fit and enhanced breathability. Each light trail was illustrated by Tim in 2D, tailored to follow the movement of the athlete, and matched to the colours of each kit creating a sense of movement and dynamism. Tim also led a wider creative team of retouch artists to apply this design to a number of additional images within the Engineered Speed campaign.

Each athlete also underwent significant retouching, grading and re-lighting in order to create a uniform set of images. The images were created at extremely high resolution so that the fabric’s weave and integration with the light trails maintained detail, even on the tightest of crops.
