We were delighted to have worked with advertising agency AMV BBDO on the new print advert for the tasty sauce brand, Dolmio!
Featuring the famous Italian family, it was our pleasure to take on the task of creating the lovable characters in 3D! "We started by looking at photographs of the puppets and previous TVCs to make sure we captured each individual characters enduring features," explains lead 3D artist Matt Painter.
The clothing was then designed and modeled in 3D by Roger Hudson using the clothing simulator software, Marvelous Designer. This is a very controllable software program that let us create realistic creases and cloth simulations, mentions Roger.
Once the characters were fully created they were retouched into the photographic scene by retoucher Vakakn Vorperian who says, the photographic backplate had been shot on film which it a medium I hadn t seen for a while. The quality of the film scan was impressive and shows that film still holds it own against the latest technologies of today!
